Hello world! I tell you, the more I try to grow the more I discover the importance of timing. I’ve often heard of it’s importance but now I guess I am becoming more aware of it’s importance. I believe there is a set time for things to happen in our lives. This is truly evident when we follow His will instead of our will. But He still lovingly redirects us when we choose our own. For the past three months, I have been admiring a picture worthy view from the freeway each morning as I headed to work. The moment I first noticed this specific view, I imagined what my miracle shot would be like. I would secretly get so excited to see the view each morning (shout out to that city life). So one day, MLK day to be exact, I had this inner feeling that this day would be the day I was going to get my awesome shot. Now that day I got off a little later than expected and not to mention I totally forgot to pack a lunch being that I didn’t plan on working late. So when I got home, I had to eat a quick meal, change clothes, and prepare my camera. See I knew I had to be ready, so I made sure my camera was ready and around my neck so when I pulled on side of the freeway I would not waste any time. I guess you can say I am also learning how essential it is to literally stay ready. So I headed out a little later than I anticipated. I sat in my car for a few seconds and gave Jesus a shout out to please let me come out of this safely being that I had to park on side of the freeway! I also went on to text a friend to pray for me lol. If you don’t know by now, Houston drivers are something else (then again some say my driving is something else :/ ). Finally, I was on my way (praying the whole time like “Come on Jesus, help a sister out”). Within a few minutes there I was, safely on side of the freeway at the view I had often admired. Within seconds of pulling up, the picture that I had often imagined in my mind was happening! And then BAM, I got it! As I drove away thanking Jesus for the picture, and especially for me making it out safely, I soon realized the importance of timing. I realized how I was supposed to get off late, forget to pack my lunch, and then have to grab something quick to eat when I get home. All of these things played a part in me making it to my destination on time at the right time. I also realized that if I had not had my camera ready, I would have missed the shot. This year, I made it a goal of mine to be more prepared so I am always ready to the best of my ability. I’m also learning to trust in God’s timing and especially to act then He says “it’s time.” So to you out there, do your part and trust in God’s timing. You will arrive at your specific destinations at the right time (trust the process).
